Matthew Morgan In January 1994 at the age of 15, I had an unfortunate accident. I was standing on the back of a moving pickup truck and not holding on. I lost my balance and fell out the side, landing on my feet and then on my head. The impact of my head hitting the tar caused my skull to split open and my body to tumble down the road. My father, the driver, stopped immediately and rushed to my rescue. He started CPR, which provided no results in the initial stages. My heart stopped, blood was running out my mouth, nose and ears. Through his belief and prayer he gave me CPR again, which kicked my heart into working mode. At the hospital I underwent CAT Scans, which showed that I had damaged my C1 and C2 vertebra severely. My parents were taken aside by my neurosurgeon, who said that I would never be able to walk, talk or eat again for the rest of my life. I had numerous pipes in my body and was on a respirator. My body became anorexic and extremely weak. It quickly became clear that the problem I had with my body was not acceptable to me or to my family and friends. Through the power of my subconscious mind, my thoughts of health and strength became my beliefs and my beliefs became my reality. I focused on making sure my nutritional intake was suitable for the building up and healing of my body, not only for the physical look but for the internal functionalities. Through this, my mind and body started getting stronger and working again. I went back to school and passed all subjects and schooling years. I attempted and made all sporting teams that a male could play. I might not have been the best in the team, but I was always a winner in my heart and mind. After school I got into cycling, swimming and running races as well as triathlons and duathlons. I have partaken in numerous races throughout SA in all my disciplines. I’ve gone as far as racing the World ITU Triathlon in Richards Bay. I have always had a deep passion to share my experiences of survival and to teach people that life is not to be taken for granted. I have recovered from paralysis and anorexia through choices that I've made in my daily lifestyle. I have taught myself to control my subconscious mind and have trained my body to become physically strong. To do this you need to correctly fuel your body and the way to do that is through good, healthy eating, and positive thoughts. I have the lifestyle wellness solution for you – and it is an easy one!
